This dwarf Pennisetum fountain grass works well in tight, small spaces. It is similar in appearance to ‘Hameln’, but ‘Cassian’ is a foot taller at maturity. It produces cream-pink tinted bottle brush blooms in July through September. In late September & October, Cassian appears red. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America. Cassian Dwarf Fountain Grass is a fine choice for the garden, but it is also a good selection for planting in outdoor pots and containers
Cassian is very adaptable to both dry and moist growing conditions, but will not tolerate any standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden.. It is not particular as to soil type.
A fine textured dwarf fountain grass suitable for smaller areas (both 24-30" tall and wide at maturity); bright green foliage turns orange-red in fall. Blooms are large bottle brush like plumes of pale pink that persist until winter; beautiful as a rock garden accent or massed in borders
Cassian is deer and rabbit resistant. Fountain grasses are considered nontoxic to pets and add height and beautiful blooms to flower gardens.

For mail orders: Plants may go through shock during shipping. Upon arrival, take the plant out and water it thoroughly. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please notify us via email at sales@amgardens.com and include a photo(s) within 24 hours of plant arrival.
For in store purchases: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please call us at 423-870-5000 or return the plant in its original pot/condition within 3 days. Trees and shrubs have a 1 year warranty (exceptions may apply), but we highly encourage you to give us a call or email if you notice issues with your plant. We'd love to help you figure out what's wrong and save your plant!
Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
